Talented singer-songwriter Jamie Grey releases another single, ‘From Under My Feet,’ exploring themes of heartbreak and tugging at the heartstrings.
With his collection of songs so far, like ‘Unequivocal‘ and ‘How Did We Get To Midnight‘, the rising star unveils another emotionally driven single, which pours his heart and soul into his words, filled with honesty and real experiences.
Continuing to focus on the pain after leaving a relationship which was once special, Jamie sings with passion and truth on a breakup that has become gut-wrenching to him, wondering where it went wrong and why that someone special doesn’t love him anymore. A crushing feeling which he sings sensationally inside his new single, feeling every emotion of hurt and devastation he sings about inside the intimate ballad. “If I’m not what you want anymore/Just pull the rug right from under my feet/And let me go.“
With the amount of heartfelt songs Jamie has released this year, it seems he is turning into the next Lewis Capaldi, delivering songs with crippling pain which are relatable to listeners who have had their own experiences of loving someone who doesn’t want them anymore.
The new single release was driven by the inspiration of actor Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’s separation after 27 years of marriage. Drawing from this, the rising singer crafted his own intimate words describing how that emotional experience must have felt and what a remarkable talent Jamie has in using this experience and turning it into a moving song that makes you shed a tear.
“‘From Under My Feet’ is actually a song I’ve had for a while. I wrote the chorus maybe two years ago now and at the time just posted it on my social media. I’m not really sure why I never finished it there and then, I think it may have been a late-night thing that I didn’t really think about. Since then, I’ve had loads of people resend me the video I posted, asking me if the song was out or if I finished it. I was often replying saying no, I never did finish it, but I will, but then be working on another song. About three months ago, someone else sent me the video again, and it kinda hit me that I really needed to write the rest of the song and lock back into the headspace I was in that night the chorus just fell out of me. The song is about feeling distance in a relationship and wondering if that means it could be coming to an end. A sad song for sure, but a song without a definitive happy or sad ending. I really hope people resonate with the real emotion I poured into this one.”
