After a successful audience reaction to the Prime Video series of Young Sherlock, it seems Guy Ritchie is returning to produce the second instalment of the highly acclaimed TV Show, which won the hearts and happiness of viewers.
Announcing the second season of Young Sherlock has sent viewers into an exciting spiral, commenting on how much they’re loving the first season and how they cannot wait for the second season release. Guy Ritchie is known for producing successful classic TV shows and movies about British comedy gangs, which leave viewers in hysterics.
Known for award-winning shows and movies such as Netflix hit show The Gentlemen (2024), Snatch (2000), Wrath Of Man (2021) and a whole lot more. So it was no surprise when there was an announcement about a second season coming to Prime Video for Young Sherlock.
While this announcement has come recently, Guy Ritchie has got his work cut out for him as comedy series The Gentlemen season two was announced to return in fall 2026.
Back to the exciting news of Young Sherlock, starring actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin playing young Sherlock Holmes, series one, aired on March 4, 2026, on Prime Video. Set in the 1870s, it sees 19-year-old Sherlock causing mischief and trouble, where he ends up working as a reckless Oxford University porter. With his brother Mycroft’s (Max Irons) help, Sherlock finds himself wrapped up in a murder case while being framed for the crime. Working alongside his sidekick, James Moriarty (Donall Finn), they work hard to find clues and find out how this murder came to be.
With both Donall Finn and Hero Fiennes Tiffin on screen, the pair shares extraordinary chemistry that shines through the scenes where they’re being portrayed together, bringing laughter and tears.
While the Holmes family secrets unravel and go through twists and turns throughout the eight comical episodes, the drama unfolds, and every viewer is held on the edge of their seats.
Season One of Young Sherlock also starred Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech).
Guy Ritchie serves as an executive producer and will return as a director in Season Two to direct the first episode of the season. The series is created for television and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill with executive producers Marc Resteghini, Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, Colin Wilson, Harriet Creelman, and co-executive producers Steve Thompson and James Dormer. Motive Pictures leads physical production for Young Sherlock.
