With sweet-sounding music filled with passion and lyrics that tug the heart, this is what the Irish indie folk band King Fishr bring when they release a song, such as their new unveiling of single release ‘Caroline‘.
Listening to the band’s exquisite music, it seems that they never escape their traditional music style of heartwarming melodies with an Irish twang that increases the romantic atmosphere, shifting gently throughout the song.
The new track ‘Caroline’ delivers yet another melody that is dreamy and filled with hope despite the story being surrounded in a melancholy way. Looking back on a relationship and travelling through each memory, happy or not, is what the lyrics tell from the singing of distinct vocals inside the song.
Seeing lead singer Eddie reflecting on poignant memories describing a woman, possibly named ‘Caroline’, who could be the one that got away. While having a cheery melody of soft guitar strings and the passion-filled inside beat of the drums, there is a bittersweet feeling within the track, where the character finds someone special who they will love forever but then loses, a relatable yet moving story which the KingFishr does successfully.
‘Caroline’ has been a fan favourite and an ever-present in the set during the band’s triumphant live shows this summer. It was written “almost on a whim” when Eddie felt inspired by his love of Irish poet Seamus Heaney. “This is the first song that was written with a more guided, poetic intention,” he says. “Tapping into the marriage between the trouble you have in relationships, and also that fairytale Irish existence that people think of.”
The newly released track is the sixth following the previous releases of Heart In The Water, flowers-fire, Headlands, Anyway and Eyes don’t lie, which combined have racked up nearly 2 million streams on Spotify.
Why not listen to the ever-romantic single now?
