The Nashville duo, Homes at Night, are giving us a late-night drive feeling with their new single ‘Midwest Summer‘.
From their previous single, ‘Texaco’, their new single brings a chilled-out feeling by describing a heartfelt story of two lovers meeting on a summer night drive. Adding a mixture of alternative rock music combined with indie-pop melodies creates a lively spirit to the song, which boosts an uplifting mood for the audience.
The duo elaborate on the new single: “‘Midwest Summer’ really feels like two different songs melded into one. It’s an approachable, nostalgia-bomb in the indie-alt vein that feels perfect for late night drives on a humid Summer night. But it’s also a melancholic song that follows the story of two former lovers visiting their hometown at the same time, seeing if they can reignite their high-school flame through the lens of nostalgia. As we are on tour in the Midwest currently, this song has become the soundtrack of our travels and we can’t wait to share it!”
Homes at Night consist of bandmates Hank Compton and Aksel Coe have an interesting production to their music where they go beyond the boundaries of adding alternative rock, which is both modern and nostalgic, adding a unique presence to their sound. Now rising through the music industry, they have been busy touring with Saint Motel and Arts Fishing Club, and now we are ready to hear exciting new music from the incredible duo.
