Lewis Ofman releases new single 'Highway'

Lewis OfMan is bringing happy vibes to his new single ‘Highway’ with Empress Of

From electrical pop anthems to moving onto a new sound of indie-psyche rock, Lewis OfMan is back with his recent single ‘Highway’, in collaboration with Lorely (Empress Of).

Since his previous album release called ‘Sonic Poems’, Lewis OfMan advances by transporting us into a feel-good mood when listening to his music. He does this with his new track called ‘Highway’, which follows on from influences such as 70s Brazilian music, Jorge Ben, Quarteto Em Cy, as well as the genre of psychedelic rock. Bringing this into the mix creates an uplifting atmosphere, creating a relaxed mood when hearing the song.

Alongside Lewis’s chilled musical production, he collaborates with electro-pop Honduran-American singer Lorely (Empress Of), who adds tender vocals to the single, talking about the feelings you gain when you go on a road journey with someone you love: “All my life/I’ve dreamed of you, my love/All the days/Searching for you.”

The single begins a new direction for Lewis as he moves from electro-pop and dives into a new range of influences like psychedelic rock. With a talent for creating a feel-good musical production, Lewis OfMan has shown a passion for this since the age of 11 when he enjoyed musical composition on Garageband, with nearly 200m global streams, support from NME, Billboard US, Paper Mag, Pitchfork and Canal+, and collaboration with artists including Carly Rae Jepsen, Coco & Clair Clair this is an artist rapidly growing in stature.

Speaking on the single, he describes how

“The track was started in Greece during a reset break from love & from being on the road… getting back to myself. I was listening to a lot of 70s Brazilian music, Jorge Ben, Quarteto Em Cy etc. but also went back to the music I was listening to as a teenager, all this psychedelic rock, that is why you hear this fuzzy phaser guitar sound. I also played the drums on it, my first instrument, so it’s new but at the same time I’m coming back to my musical roots. Then I met Empress Of in Los Angeles and the morning before going to the studio I was walking to pick up my wallet I forgot and on the way I listened to this demo I had and thought ‘this would be the perfect song to do with her’. The vibes were so easy, we wrote & recorded her voice in a few hours, I was so impressed by her tone – she’s one of the most talented singers I’ve ever met.”
