Dermot Kennedy tugs at the heartstrings with a heartwarming single ‘Kiss Me’

Like all romantic, everlasting relationships, the best way to sum it up is through a heartwarming song sung by an artist such as singer song writer Dermot Kennedy, with his new release of ‘Kiss Me‘.

Kiss Me‘ follows up on from Dermot’s previous single, ‘Something To Someone‘, which continues talking about the joyous feeling of loving someone. Co-written by Dermot, Dan Smith (Bastille), KOZ (Kendrick Lamar, Dua Lipa) and Steve Mac (Pink, Ed Sheeran), “Kiss Me” was also co-produced by Mac and KOZ. “Kiss Me” is the latest track to be unveiled ahead of Dermot’s anticipated forthcoming new album, Sonder, out November 4th.

With transformative, passionate lyrics about love and a poignant, upbeat melody, Dermot Kennedy describes what it is like to have love which is so powerful that you consume all of it and cannot stop dreaming about how lucky you are. ‘Let this night invade my lungs/You’re all I wanna breathe/Right beside the lake, I burn for you/You burn for me.’

While having a collection of songs underneath his belt, Dermot has always had a talent for provoking emotions that tug at the heartstrings, whether it is sad and heartbreaking like ‘Outnumbered‘ or a positive anthem such as ‘Better Days‘. Dermot knows how to deliver an honest, narrative song.

“The message behind both the video and song of ‘Kiss Me’ is that love is worth it…Even when things are falling apart and life feels short and there’s chaos all around us, there’s still always something to hold on to.”

The music video for “Kiss Me” was directed by ABCDCD (Franz Ferdinand, Sparks) and depicts an epic journey of a couple set against bold, cinematic images. Dermot and his love interest are seen in an intimate moment driving on the back of a pick-up truck. As the video unfolds, pieces of the truck disintegrate around them, yet they never stop moving forward.
