Sunsetto 'late To The party'

Sunsetto describes the effects of being in a relationship in his dreamy song ‘Late To The Party’

It is inspiring how many artists today can describe many perspectives of a relationship and a breakup. When Toronto based singer, songwriter and producer sunsetto (aka Kyle Mischiek) does it, he uses the detailing of how much the effects of being in a relationship can bring with his new song ‘Late To The Party‘.

His new single follows up on his recent song called ‘drugs are for fun‘, which describes the nightlife club action of being in a relationship. Now onto his new single about another party scene, talking about the effort of being in a relationship, Sunsetto brings upbeat rhythms to ‘Late To The Party’

Alongside the dreamy R&B beats and his poignant, distinct vocals, Sunsetto sings about how complex it can be to be in a relationship. He discusses the song title, ‘Late To The Party‘, as a metaphor in saying his always the last to know, or how it could also mean that he hasn’t been paying attention to the other person’s feelings in the partnership.

When you have a dream you’re working towards, it becomes your first priority, and some relationships can suffer because of the lack of attention. I acknowledge the sense of urgency in the summer to go out and fall in love and make memories, especially since summer goes by so quickly in Canada, and the pressure I felt from all directions at one point in my life.”

Sunsetto (aka Kyle Mischiek) is a Toronto-based singer, songwriter and producer. Skating past genre lines and assembling a nocturnal mosaic of R&B, alternative and pop, his evocative vocals dip in and out of hazy loops, stoned D.I.Y. beats, and flourishes of cinematic production beamed out of his studio yet meant for mass transmission.

During 2020, he shared a snippet of his single, “don’t leave,” on Instagram and organically amassed hundreds of thousands of streams. He followed up the initial viral buzz with two more singles, “good connection” and “downtown,” and is continuing to roll out a series of new tracks as he heads towards his forthcoming debut EP.
