Curtis Waters 'Conceited' single

Single Review: Curtis Waters transports us back to the 2010s era

On the 26th of February, pop rising artist Curtis Waters released his funky single, ‘Conceited‘.

From his recent single, ‘Doodoodoo‘, Curtis’s brand new song brings a nostalgic feeling through the musical style; his upbeat electric pop music was similar to the sounds we heard in the 2010 era.

‘Conceited’ transports us to a time when it was simple, and it was all about love and the grooves. His single brings energy filled with happiness, and it is refreshing to hear his musical style because his music construction is consistently creative and different from other artists today.

“Conceited is a song I made because I was listening to a lot of 2010s pop music. I wanted to see what the 2021 Curtis waters version of that era would sound like. Conceited is fun, upbeat and a little cheesy. The lyrics are about being conceited it’s supposed to be a bit ironic.”

Comparing to his previous singles, Curtis takes a big step by pausing on his alternative pop music range and transporting people back to the 2010 music style, which was brave to do. As well as this, in other singles, he sings about passion and being self-assured with looks, but with ‘Conceited‘, Curtis describes a combination of his inner feelings of being hurt and betrayed. However, he covers this up by showing his moving on and not worrying.

Being a young creative from Nepal, Curtis steps up his music video production by adding a unique element to present his video inside a presentation. It shows how you do not always need a team to produce a music video while being in a lockdown; you can do it in different ways like a presentation. However, watching this music video and looking at other music videos shows how much effort and hard-work creatives on and off camera do.

Why not listen to ‘Conceited‘ now?
