H.E.R Stands Up For Racial Equality In New Single ‘Fight For You’

Recently, singer-songwriter H.E.R released her new single ‘Fight For You‘, a song which stands up for racial and social justice, which now appears on the movie soundtrack Judas and the Black Messiah.

In the intro of the song, what compelled us straight away was the 60s and 70s musical rhythms inside it, how it had an upbeat, electrifying, strong sound which was powerful. Not only was the sound powerful, but the lyrics too, they had a true meaning storyline behind them, where H.E.R boldly sings and advocates for social and racial justice for the world.

Fight For You‘ represents the story of the movie, Judas and the Black Messiah, where it presents the story of the political organization, The Black Panthers, and describes the life of the activists such as Fred Hampton. 

After releasing the song, H.E.R received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song. Written by H.E.R., Dernst “D’Mile” Emile and Tiara Thomas, the incredible single now appears on the Judas and the Messiah: The Inspired Album, it will also feature the likes of Nas, SiR, A$AP Rocky, Dom Kennedy, White Dave and more.
