Selena Gomez and K-Pop’s girl-group BlackPink have finally released their new single called ‘Ice Cream’.
Written and composed by Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet, the sensational singer and girl band sung beautifully on ‘Ice Cream’. However, while the song is titled ‘Ice Cream’, the single and the lyrics don’t mention how the delicious Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream tastes or how luxurious mint chocolate ice cream is. Instead the single takes a different twist on Ice Cream.
The single ‘Ice Cream’ is conceived around the desirable nature of love and just like Ice Cream the experience of love is temptatious.
In the song rapper-Lisa sings:

Sensual and seductive lyrics are featured in ‘Ice Cream’.
As well as the passionate lyrics and the extraordinary vocals, the pop- /electronic music in ‘Ice Cream’ flows with an upbeat tempo that vibrates through your entire body which drives you with the feeling of being thrilled, this is because of how energetic and powerful the music is. The music can be compelling enough to make you want to dance and vibe along with the music.
After creating the single, the fun wasn’t over yet, as both Selena Gomez and BlackPink decided to create a music video to ‘Ice Cream’. Unfortunately, while the coronavirus pandemic took a toll on the music video planning, the singers still were able to produce such an amazing music video.
Of course, an Ice Cream van on the music set was already going to be there as the single is titled ‘Ice Cream’. With this, the singers wore colourful clothing to represent the vibrance of Ice Cream flavours and to show the atmosphere of happiness too.
In the US Selena filmed her part for the music video, whereas Black Pink filmed their other part in South Korea. In an interview with CNN, the K-Pop girls said how “Throughout the music video we tried to have each look suit that entire set, and we especially focused on wearing bright colors that suit the overall vibe of the music and concept. We wanted to portray that fun, bright, summer energy through our outfits, and we hope this message went through to our fans”.
Selena and the girls had a brilliant time working together on the single, although they couldn’t officially meet, they both felt how they had a strong connection. In another interview from Naver, Black Pink stated “All of our members are fans of Selena Gomez. Although we couldn’t meet her in person and work with her, we felt her charm once again as we communicated with her several times. We thought she was a very cool person when we saw her sharing opinions with others humbly and easily”.
‘Ice Cream’ will appear as the 2nd track on BlackPink’s upcoming album called ‘The Album’.
