MTV has launched a new series about Black Lives Matter.
During the summer communities across the world gathered to protest about Black Lives Matter. Since the commitment of protests and marches, there have been releases of new TV series regarding the story of BLM. Now MTV has revealed that they will be scheduling a new short-form series to support Black Lives Matter.

In this educational series will explore the impact that racism brings amongst ethnic minorities. Along with this, celebrities such as Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, activist Munroe Bergdom, singer-songwriter Ray BLK, Reality TV star Nathan Henry, model Duckie Thot and rapper Serious Klein will join and will share their experiences of racial inequality and how to build a change for the world.
The series will be part of MTV’s Generation Campaign that highlights the importance of issues that include LGBTQ rights, Climate Change and environmental problems, racial inequality, mental health and many more of important subjects too.
Sources such as Variety have said that ‘MTV Generation Change: Black Lives Matter was spearheaded by Black creators led by senior producer Amie Parker-Williams, and includes Samiat Pedro, Tyrell Charles and Shamar Bean’.
Black Lives Matter is a hope towards communities and societies that will lead to a positive change in the world. Society believes it will beneficial for black people and ethnic minorities to amplify their voices so others can listen to their story.
For example, during the 60s and 80s, two of the first inspirational Black newsreaders, known by the names of Vanessa Kirkpatrick and Barbara-Blake-Hannah encountered racial injustice while working in the media. People judged them due to the colour of their skin. People felt they didn’t belong in the world of media. In an interview with PressPad Vanessa shares her message ‘On Black Lives Matter, I don’t want what’s going on in our industry to be seen through the prism of the movement’. Now through their careers, Vanessa and Barbara have earnt many achievements.

Vanessa is now working as a Producer on a documentary about the injustice of a Black-African American activist in 1968, and Barbara has recently achieved a Journalism award in her name created by The Press-Gazette. Barbara’s message is ‘ My advice to young journalists is READ, READ, READ and WRITE, WRITE, WRITE. These two acts are the best way to become top journalists. It’s an art of communication that is based in the written word, and that in turn is based on reading the written word of other, better writers. Whether you’re Black or White, Male or Female, this is the best way to be the BEST’.

The MTV Black Lives Matter series will be part of a change and will be eye-opening to viewers. This will be aired from the 26th August on MTV’s social platforms as well as Channel 5 and BET International.
