American pop-rock singer-songwriter Knox Morris opens up about heartbreak, self-discovery and growing up on his latest album, ‘My Midwest Best.’
Ahead of the release of his third studio album, the singer-songwriter gave fans a glimpse into the project by sharing previews of tracks including Go For Broke, Long Story Short and After The After Party. Through his signature storytelling, Knox explores themes of personal growth, finding your identity and navigating the aftermath of heartbreak.
Following his 2025 album Going, Going, Gone (For Good), Knox continues his journey of reflecting on relationships and learning to walk away from situations that no longer serve you. Known for blending emotional lyricism with energetic pop-rock production, he once again showcases his ability to pair heartfelt storytelling with infectious melodies. While his previous record leaned heavily into explosive rock influences, My Midwest Best adopts a slightly softer approach. The album still carries the electric energy that has become synonymous with Knox’s sound, but balances it with a greater sense of vulnerability and reflection.
The album opens with Go For Broke, an uplifting anthem centred on optimism and embracing life’s uncertainties. Meanwhile, Long Story Short highlights Knox’s soaring vocals as he captures the pain of losing someone and the difficult process of moving forward. His raw delivery allows listeners to connect with the emotional weight behind every lyric.
Throughout the 12-track collection, Knox demonstrates a talent for transforming life’s most difficult moments into empowering songs. Even when exploring heartbreak and disappointment, his high-energy instrumentation keeps the album uplifting, creating a listening experience that feels both cathartic and hopeful.
Knox’s passion for music began when he taught himself guitar at 16 before performing at local open mic nights. His dedication eventually led to viral success in 2022 with his breakout single Sneakers. Since then, he has continued to build an impressive career, releasing Going, Going, Gone in 2025 and My Midwest Best in 2026, while also touring with acts such as The Band Camino and Boys Like Girls and performing at major festivals including Lollapalooza.
With My Midwest Best, Knox Morris delivers a heartfelt collection that captures the highs and lows of growing up, proving that even life’s toughest experiences can be transformed into anthems of resilience and self-discovery.
Now with his new album out, Knox is currently on his headline tour across America and has new dates for a new world tour in February 2027, from London to Australia. Get tickets HERE.
