Rising star Matilda Mann delivers optimism about finding love and travelling through life in an open-minded way inside her new album ‘Kismet‘.
Ahead of her sophomore album release, Matilda teased listeners by sharing featured tracks such as ‘After The Love‘ and ‘Haunt Me‘, setting the expectation that her new album will be centred on lighthearted themes of finding love while navigating life in an open, free way.
With an eleven-track album, Matilda puts together a list of songs filled with passion, honesty, and love, singing about life’s highs and lows while trying to build positivity and hope. Whether that is finding intimacy in ‘Chain Reaction‘ or living life to the fullest and taking everything in slowly in ‘Imagine That‘, she brings a happy glow to her album, where you will feel uplifted and warm while listening to her songs. “Now I know I wasn’t crazy/For believing in your love/’Cause I knew one day you’d find me/Just needed to catch up/Well, you know what they say/Good things come to those who wait.”
While writing lyrics that bring an uplifting spirit to listeners, it is also the way Matilda sounds through her vocals that makes it gentle and soft to listen to; she has an angelic, soft voice that makes her voice feel dreamy to listen to, while the breezy acoustics and enchanting piano keys sync with her distinct vocals.
‘Kismet‘ is a mixture of themes, from doing your best to find an intimate connection where everything feels delightful to carrying on the momentum of hope as love comes to an end in ‘After The Love‘; Matilda continues to stay joyful in her own light, which is beautiful to see.
“Love really does come when you least expect it, it’s one of the most annoying truths I’ve come to learn. You’re finally settled in your life and then suddenly, out of the blue comes this rush of adrenaline, joy, addiction for a person you’ve just met. Nothing can prevent it or control it and I think that’s why love is the most written about thing ever. We all feel it, but nobody gets a say over who we fall in love with and when, and I think that’s pretty beautiful.”

From being raised in Shepherd’s Bush in London, Matilda grew up in love with soul music, influenced by the 70s style sounds of Green, Bill Withers, Carole King and The Carpenters. She has become an authentic artist in her own unique way, blending soft pop and 70s-style music, creating a wholehearted feeling across her collection.
With over four EP’s and support slots from Tom Odell, Role Model, Laufey and Wallows, and a sold-out headline show at London’s KOKO on the back of Roxwell.
