Rising star Florrie captures another heartfelt story which tugs at the heartstrings of her listeners with her new single ‘Catch You If You Fall‘.
In anticipation of her upcoming album release, ‘Magic For A While‘ set to be out on the 16th of October, rising star Florrie creates yet another heartwarming single ‘Catch You If You Fall’, written by her younger self, capturing the bittersweeet emotions of what it is like to admire someone you loved dearly and now they’re not around in the world to carry you along, but you still carry them with you in your heart everyday. Her new track opens up to her vulnerable inner feelings, pouring out her true inner thoughts and feelings, speaking on how important it is to speak about grief and missing loved ones, and always remembering the special moments with them.
With a slow piano ballad which eventually builds up to uptempo soaring electro pop which increases more electric emotion inside her new track, Florrie uses her soothing and angelic vocals singing on the themes of grief and wanting to turn back time to spend more many moments with her passed loved one who was her Uncle Martin, a family member who she spent most of her younger years with. “Maybe I could catch you if you fall/I’m six years old sitting at your bedside/Thinking I could fix it all/And you never spoke about your fears/Was I foolish for thinking love alone could keep you here?.” Florrie shows her incredible songwriting talent, where her words can touch the hearts of many people, creating a resonance in her lyrics where anybody who has suffered the loss of someone they loved a lot has passed and is going through a hard-hitting, grieving experience; her track will bring them hope and teach them to always reflect on the good memories you shared with your late loved ones.
“Uncle Mart was diagnosed with MS when he was 17 and never moved away from home, so my nan became his full-time carer and they lived together in a little bungalow in Bristol. I spent five days a week with them until I was four and then went every day after school as I got older. I watched him struggle a lot as his MS progressed, he was in a wheelchair and had lost the use of half his body, but he was never defeated by it, and somehow he stayed so positive right up until the end. I loved helping him, and I think I absorbed all of the love my nan had for him too, because she essentially gave up her life to look after him. They showed me what real love and resilience look like, and I think so much of the empathy I have now comes from growing up with them. Mart taught me not to take anything for granted and to keep life in perspective, because if he could remain positive through everything he had to deal with, then I think there must always be a way through’
