Discover Hailey Picardi’s Vulnerable Journey in ‘Scars To Prove It’

Only 19-year-old and rising singer-songwriter Hailey Picardi has delved into emotional and vulnerable experiences, transforming them into moving songs inside her debut EP ‘Scars To Prove It‘.

Beginning her music career, the rising singer-songwriter from Los Angeles is showing the world what she is made of and leaving everything on the line with her debut EP ‘Scars To Prove It‘.

Learning lessons in relationships, experiencing falling in and out of love, the painful breakups and the growing pains through life, Hailey pours all of her vulnerabilities and insecurities into her seven moving tracks. From the opening track ‘Chaotic‘, with mid-tempo, acoustic pop music, Hailey describes the struggles of life while making mistakes and taking risks in life, whether that is in relationships or jobs. She doesn’t want a normal life; she wants the chaos, proving that she has scars that show her experiences in pain and heartbreak.

Looking inside the lyrics of ‘Chaos‘, the 19-year-old already teaches us that pain and heartache just make us grow stronger throughout life; all the mistakes and relationships we go through teach us valuable lessons, making us who we are today. “If it isn’t chaotic, do I even want it?/If it isn’t messy, will I feel empty?/If it doesn’t stab me, is it even worth having?/If love isn’t bleeding, will I even believe it?.”

Inside her debut EP, Hailey not only uses moving emotions that tug at the heartstrings but also uses her tender and soft vocals, reminiscent of Billie Eilish’s voice, elevating the deep feelings of romance and heartbreak even more. She goes on a journey of learning about herself through life, following a story of falling in love, to breakups, such as delivering poignant songs ‘Black Or White‘ and ‘Car Crash‘.

Like influencing artists such as Olivia Rodrigo and Maisie Peters, Hailey brings her storytelling to life inside her beautiful songs, making it all the more meaningful and important when she sings her heart out.

“‘scars to prove it’ is an emotionally raw and vulnerable project where I’ve transformed a range of agonizing feelings into art for others to resonate with. In some of these songs I talk about a specific experience and in others I take an introspective approach on a particular pattern I’ve watched unfold in my life. The title represents my distorted perception of love which is expanded upon in the track ‘chaotic’ where the lyric is ‘I was loved and I knew it, I’ve got scars here to prove it’”
