With various rumours from publications Deadline and Variety announcing updates on the film production of Verity, it is now revealed by producer Amazon MGM Studios that the best-selling novel Verity will be a film adaptation in October 2026.
With fans riled up with excitement over the new teaser trailer release, people are already looking forward to how the film will be similar to or different to the best-selling novel. With comments over the new trailer stating: “GOD, THIS YEAR IS ONLY FOR ANNEEE”, “I’m going to be terrified, and I’m so excited”, “OH I AM SAT AND READY!!!! LOVEDDDD THIS BOOK 🔥👏.”
Most of these comments spread over social media suggest how people are more than ready for the upcoming movie set to be revealed in October this year.
Starring Anne Hathaway as Verity Crawford, Dakota Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh, Josh Hartnett as Jeremy Crawford and Brady Wagner as crew Crawford, Verity is a psychological thriller novel which will be adapted into a movie and sets it on character Lowen Ashleigh who is a struggling writer trying to make it as a award-winning author, but when a exciting opportunity comes her way from hot Jeremy Crawford, Lowen can’t turn it down, and the book which she helps write will change her life in unexpected ways.
Having this book opportunity meant Lowen would be acting as a ghost writer for the popular star thriller author, Verity Crawford, who unfortunately couldn’t finish her book series due to being ill from a mysterious illness. This is where Jeremy brings in Lowen to finish Verity’s book. Twists and turns follow the struggling writer as she relocates to the Crawford estate to finish the book, leading to answering questions about Verity and her illness.
Published in 2018 as a standalone novel by young adult fiction author Colleen Hoover, the book went on to receive over one million copies in 2023 alone.
Becoming a worldwide popular author meant that Colleen Hoover had the chance for her books to turn into beautiful and remarkable films. It is only recently that Collen has had her novels, ‘Regretting You’ and ‘It Ends With Us’, adapted into emotional movies that have received successful reviews from various publications. Now it is time for her novel, Verity, to take the stage and win the audience over.
The new movie will be directed by Michael Showalter, who also worked alongside Anne Hathaway as director on her 2024 movie, The Idea of You.

Speaking of the star of the year, Verity is not the only film Anne Hathaway will be starring in in 2026, as she is returning to The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is set to be released in May.
