Country pop sensation is bringing her real-life stories to her third studio album, where listeners can resonate with her on each track. Ella Langley releases new album ‘Dandelions‘.
Following on from her hit single ‘Choosin Texas‘, which appears on her new album, Ella has released a resonant third studio album, filled with experiences surrounding themes of love, relationships, navigating breakups and learning to love yourself. Since her debut album, ‘Excuse The Mess‘, the 26-year-old singer continues to develop emotional and deep tracks, which are based on themes of identity and self-discovery. As she remains on a journey of creating songs, she is figuring out yourself while living life. Ella has a way of elevating the emotion and connection within her music by using honest storytelling, making it feel like hearing Shania Twain or Twinnie, but still, she sings with her authentic style of lyrics.
The album opens with a “Froggy Went A Courtin’” intro, one of the first songs Ella learned to sing alongside her grandfather at his piano. From there, she moves effortlessly between stripped-back reflection and full-band release, pairing unfiltered storytelling with infectious, singalong melodies.
“‘Dandelion’ is a natural next phase after ‘hungover’,” says Ella. “‘hungover’ is what brought people to the table, and ‘Dandelion’ is what makes them sit down and eat. This album explains who I am as an artist and as a person. It reflects on what made me this way while giving a glimpse of what’s next. It’s my favorite project I’ve ever done, it’s the most ‘me’ I’ve ever put out.”

Going through the album, tracks such as ‘Dandelions‘ and ‘Be Her‘, Ella inspires us to have self-love and have liberation in living life, having the freedom to express ourselves, and knowing our worth. Singing in ‘Be Her‘, Ella sings with admiration about a girl she inspires to be, describing how “She ain’t stuck on the past, ain’t worried about tomorrow/She’s a lover, a mother, a sister, and wife/She rolls over in the morning to the love of her life/Only smokes one on vacation, says just what she thinks/She don’t need validation or much of anything.”
While teaching us to love ourselves a bit more, Ella uses a range of perspectives in the album, increasing the raw emotions, singing about going from breakups to relationships. Slowing down from Ella’s usual upbeat and rhythmic tempo, inside ‘Low Lights‘ and ‘We Know Us‘, the talented singer transports us into the heartbreaking emotions people experience going into a relationship filled with ups and downs, teaching us that love can both be a sunshine-filled happiness or a storm-filled sadness. “If we know us, it’s goin’ to take a turn/Yeah, if we know us, it’s going to crash and burn/Burn, burn/I know that you know we ain’t goin’ to say no/Yeah, we’re going to mess this up/If we know us.”
On the same theme of relationships, while delivering the slow-sweet acoustics and piano melodies, Ella increases the fierceness through the tempo increase and the bold energy rising inside ‘I Gotta Quit‘. With a rock and roll energy fused with country, the pop sensation sings with passion and frustration to prevent herself from having a guy as her drug and trying to find a cure to get rid of him in life and in her mind. “Everywhere I go, everything I see/Even in my dreams, it’s haunting me/Tell me what I gotta say, tell me what I gotta do/’Cause damn it, I gotta quit thinkin’ ’bout you.” It is catchy and contains irresistible lyrics which you can dance to while trying to get over an ex.
The album not only sticks to one side of relationships, but also gives us a range of experiences and perspectives about the various themes laid bare inside the album. She includes the heartwarming feelings when people enter a relationship, wanting to spend every waking minute with each other. She sings this with a delicate melody on ‘You & Me Time‘, making it feel loving and sweet when listening to this adorable track.
There is a song for every listener on the album, whether you want to hear songs to make you fall in love, get over somebody or influence you to be more positive, showing how incredibly versatile she is as a singer-songwriter.
