Following the success of her 2026 debut single ‘Long Time Coming‘, Jos Rivers returns with new single ‘He’s A Genius‘, bringing comedy and talented songwriting.
With her sense of humour, real storytelling and vulnerabilities inside her music, Jos Rivers has a talent where she explores various life experiences, describing characters we could recognise in real life based on her descriptions. From her new single ‘He’s A Genius‘, she uses comical songwriting to describe how boys are treated differently from girls, while girls are pointed out for their mistakes and bad habits, when it’s boys, people move past it and just define them as ‘jokers’. We can all understand where Jos Rivers is coming from.
‘He’s A Genius is about how boys and girls are treated differently as they grow up. It’s about how boys often get away with more, just by being a joker.’

She frames her songs with wit and deep dives into honesty, conversing with her listeners about different stories which are interesting yet funny to hear. While sometimes the music of today can feel less narrative and more music-driven, the Brit -School singer knows how to combine both, creating meaningful songs that are not only driven by upbeat alternative pop songs, but attach them with lyrics filled with truth.
A winner of the Accenture Prize for Best Live Performer, Jos has already played iconic London venues including Ronnie Scott’s and KOKO, with an authentic music style. Jos also has vocals, which can be described as dreamy and soft vocals that are exquisite to listen to.
Born and raised in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, her growing reputation as a must-see live act continues this year, with upcoming dates including The Great Escape Festival, a headline show at Paper Dress Vintage, London on 3rd June, and major summer slots at festivals including Boardmasters and Victorious Festival.
