Kyra Machida makes her first moves in the music scene with her debut single ‘Connect’

Get ready for the new introducing artist, Kyra Machida, as she makes her first moves in the music industry with her debut single ‘Connect‘.

Born and raised in Japan, Kyra has always had a passion for music at an early age. From joining her church choir to singing non-stop, Kyra signed with a Japanese label at 14 years old, and after years of hard work and persistence, her journey brought her to Los Angeles to continue to pursue her goals and passion with her music. With musical influences such as Imogen Heap and Pink Pantheress, Kyra describes her sound as “a mix of R&B melodies, lush vocals, plush layering harmonies over drum and bass with electronic-influenced production.”

With her debut single, the emerging pop artist sounds like a brand new Pink Pantheress but brings her Japanese heritage throughout her music. The music and lyrics conveyed in ‘Connect‘ are an electronic blend of R&B, and her dreamy vocals played over the song make it unique and create a piece of strong, original music that she controls herself.

Speaking on the song, Kyra describes how she “Wrote Connect when i was in a dark place trying to figure out myself after being shaped n molded in this world full of judgement and expectations but in the end i knew all i needed was to reconnect with parts of myself i neglected growing up. Now this song has become the greatest reminder and light to me and I hope you guys will love this song as much i do🩶🪽Big Big thank you to my amazing Team at @rcarecords @soundfactoryrecords @recordsco forever grateful for you all 🙂 xx2.”

However, while Kyra explains that the song is about reconnecting with herself, she has a talent for creating different narratives for her debut single. The song creates different perspectives, meaning that she wants to feel connected to a loved one or romantic partner, or as her description suggests she wants to reconnect to old parts of herself.
