SOAP release new single 'Funeral'

SOAP brings chaotic energy in their single release ‘Funeral’

Four-piece indie pop-punk band SOAP has grown throughout the music industry, from touring with Busted to recently supporting The Vamps on tour last month. It has been a month since they released their uptempo, edgy song ‘Funeral‘, and because it was a massive hit at The Vamps tour, we decided to review it.

Chaotic, crazy and energetic.

This is how SOAP is described in their new music releases, from Get Out Of My House to the Abba cover of SOS, now with their latest release, it is no wonder why fans are jumping for joy at their concerts and doing trends all over TikTok.

With their new single ‘Funeral‘, from lead singer Ryan Lofthouse’s powerful vocals to the explosive guitar chords, the song is altogether wild and relatable. The lyrics explain how someone you like so much will destroy your life that you are planning your metaphorical funeral. “So tell my friends they’re coming to the funeral/She’s gonna be the death of me

I never thought I’d find love so unusual/I’m so blind.”

The combination of the lyrics and the music is electricity blasting throughout your ears and contains infectious hooks that you want to play again and again.

Formed in 2019 by London bassist Cooper Stout and North East vocalist Ryan Lofthouse, the band was originally called The Tyne before changing the brand in 2023, making them ‘SOAP’. Alongside, Cooper and Ryan, guitarist Joshua Lima and his brother Noah also joined the band as a drummer. With five years of incredible, upbeat music tied to their belts, they have grown a following with over 40K Instagram followers and an impressive amount of TikTok follows.

The pop-punk band brings back a 2000s nostalgia of music, relating to the likes of Five Seconds of Summer, Chemical Romance and many more. They are unique, edgy and relatable within their music.
