It has nearly been a week since the release of new movie The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which features the new popular release of Olivia Rodrigo’s powerful single ‘Can’t Catch Me Now‘.
Since releasing her September sophomore album, Guts, which debuted at no.1 on the Billboard Charts, it is no suprise that the 20-year-old pop success has recieved the opportunity to perform the infectious single to appear in The Hunger Games Saga movie.
While Olivia has a mixture of themes within her music, going from rock and punk to pop, in the new single, she brings a sombre theme to ‘Can’t Catch Me Now‘, creating a chilling melody that adds a intense atmosphere when listening to the song.
Produced by long-time collaborator Dan Nigro, ‘Can’t Catch Me Now’ has a compelling story within the lyrics, which relate to the saga series. With a soft tone and a soothing guitar sound, the pop sensation passionately sings about a haunting love story, where someone thinks the one they loved has gone, but they still are in the ‘trees, I’m in the breeze‘.
The dreamy and descriptive song that Olivia Rodrigo has captured also reflects on the movie characters and its representation of Lucy Gray Biard and her ‘supposing’ haunting of Coriolanus Snow. It is a gripping story unravelling within the movie and also the books written by Suzanne Collins.
Why not listen to Olivia Rodrigo’s new single now, and why not check out The Hunger Games new movie.
