Cody Frost takes a step forward and becomes the definition of strength as she releases her new song, ‘DWYSSWM (Don’t Worry Your Secret’s Safe With Me‘.
This epic music star does know how to create passionately high energy within a song because her music gives an explosive production, filled with a high tempo and pounding, fierce beats; we can tell Cody is all about the rock and the confident vibe.
‘DWYSSWM‘ already speaks that Cody doesn’t like to follow the sheep as she uses an abbreviated title which makes it feel original and different from most song titles of today. Inside the new single, Cody cuts the negativity and drama in her relationship and decides to take authority by not letting anyone control her. She clearly states in the song ‘Cause I’ve been pushed down and stripped of my shit.’ and ‘How many times do I have to say no?/How long before you pack your shit up and go.’
It is admirable that for only a short amount of time in being part of the music industry, Cody has shaped her image as an artist; she is shown to be authoritative, empowering and determined.
Both the electro-pop song ‘DWYSSWM‘ and her previous single ‘Berlin’ will be on her upcoming EP.
Helping on the new single was her co-producer/co-writer Dan Weller, who helped Cody fuse her firey and hype sound to the song, combining it with a rock genre.
Cody says,
“‘DWYSSWM’ is about taking back control of your body, this song was a form of therapy for me. I felt angry about the situations that myself and my peers have experienced with men. The title is about the secrets we share amongst each other because the topic is so taboo. I really enjoyed the process of making this song with Dan, we felt like we had gone back to our alternative roots, I needed it to be as heavy as it is and it just felt so natural.”

Originally from Burnley, Cody began her music career by busking on the streets of Manchester and by sharing covers of Frank Ocean, Nirvana and Slipknot on YouTube. However, her career didn’t take shape until she was diagnosed with ADHD, which meant she could finally manage the condition and find a new focus.
As lockdown entered two years ago, the ADHD resurfaced as Cody spent days alone inside her house, but to help keep her condition at bay, the singer focused her mind on creative music projects, which helped her throughout the pandemic.
The rising star now is on her way to growing her fanbase which she has only interacted with virtually. She ended 2021 with a London show for Worn Out Tuesdays and played The Lexington earlier this month for BBC Music Introducing.
