On the 20th of August, pop sensation Shawn Mendes unveiled a special single about a ‘Summer Of Love‘, featuring the multi-award-winning Producer/artist Tainy and NEON16.
Since collaborating with Justin Bieber on ‘Monsters‘ and releasing his fourth studio album ‘Wonder‘ last year, Shawn now makes his next move in music through releasing an exciting single giving us summery vibes.
In the single, the heartthrob singer describes an adoring summer of love with his lover Camila Cabello, reminiscing about their magical experiences together in summer last year.
Along with the exquisite vocals of Shawn Mendes, helping produce the track was producer/artist Tainy and NEON16, where they deliver an uplifting sound filled with dreamy guitar-led chords and a heavy, uptempo bass that radiates exuberant energy.
Speaking on the song Tiany says; “Working with Shawn was so easy and really organic to be honest. He is a true musician and vocalist but aside from that, the energy he brought to the studio was super genuine so creating feel good music together just flowed. The chemistry is there and you can hear it in the music. SOL (Summer Of Love) has a very “summer vibe” feel, led by main guitars and chords so I just wanted to give it more movement and heavy bass. That paired with Shawn’s vocals made it a perfect fit.“
As well as dropping a single, Shawn also added a music video accompanied with it. Shot in the breathtaking scenes of Majorca, Spain, directed by Matty Peacock, who previously directed Shawn’s “Wonder” video, as well as videos for Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish and Khalid, among others. Shawn Mendes enjoys the views while singing about an enjoyable summer.
On the song, Shawn opens up to say, “The inspiration was getting a few months off to have a real summer with the people I love. My favourite part about creating it was getting the opportunity to work in the studio with Tainy. It was a special experience connecting with him since he’s such an incredible artist and amazing producer.”
