The Overtones mark their tenth anniversary by releasing their album ’10’

On the 30th of July, the vocal harmony band known as The Overtones released their magnificent album ‘10‘.

The importance of this album means a lot to the band because it marks ten years since the creation of The Overtones. During the ten years of the UK’s exquisite vocal harmony group, The Overtones have shared many highs and many lows, from sadly losing their beloved member, Timmy Matley, in 2018, to the departure of Lockie Chapman in 2019. Now they continue to live on with their joy of music through band members; Mark Franks, Darren Everest, Jay James and Mike Crawshaw.

Inside ’10’ includes a mixture of the greatest hits covered by The Overtones and a couple of original songs, which are enjoyable to listen to. The start of the album is where the unity kicks off because the band recreates their magical version of ‘Gambling Man‘, but this time featuring the vocals of their newest member Jay James.

The elegant vocals of The Overtones come with their signature groovy sound that influences people to dance. The tracks have various ranges; some have sweet-sounding, romantic melodies such as Simply Red ‘Stars‘ featuring Marisha Wallace. Whereas the energy grows more with songs such as their original ‘Amigo‘ or Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You‘ featuring Michael Ball.

Moreover, what defines this album more is where the band works together and delivers original songs which fill with excitement, and once you listen to an Overtones original song, you will be longing for more.

“As we celebrate the past, dance in the present and sing for the future, we are so excited and blessed to release 10 and give The Overtones family their best night yet on our forthcoming tour!”

Altogether the album brings a sense of positivity. Particularly the original song ‘Rose Tinted‘ sums up ‘10‘. They carry their memories with them, carrying on the love they have for music as a band, and with this, they look with anticipation in the aim of the future.
