Max and Harvey continue to embrace their new musical style with new single ‘Drown’

On the 30th of July, pop sensations Max and Harvey released their new single ‘Drown‘.

Following on from their single, ‘Lonely’, the duo continues to stick with the music genres of pop and rock, which creates an upbeat, empowering sound.

Drown‘ brings enthusiastic energy where it conveys a story about the experience of falling under and failing to trust someone due to being lied to. ‘Can you complain when you got me in a meltdown? And I swear I feel like drowning/Yeah, I swear I feel so down.’

“When we wrote Drown we had a specific story of being let down in our minds, being disappointed by someone we massively looked up to, but instead of knowing we were going to be let down, it was disguised by false hope. That’s why the lyric “please just let me drown” is so important to us, because it means that we’d rather just be let down without being lied to, with a false sense of security being created, just to be ripped away so carelessly.”

Like ‘Lonely‘, the rock music and the relatable story inside the single heightens the passion and emotions, making the listeners feel empathy, which is a powerful creation.

While producing their own music in lockdown and finding new styles to portray messages in their songs, Max and Harvey found new ways to be creative such as having a podcast called ‘School Daze‘, aired in November, where they tackled the school culture with their friends and family. Following the success of this, Spotify added another opportunity for Max and Harvey to create a self-titled podcast, ‘The Max and Harvey Podcast‘, where they interviewed various stars and discussed their careers and hilarious experiences.

Now Max and Harvey prepare for their upcoming tour in April 2022, and tickets are available here to get.
