American singer-songwriter Audrey Mika has recently released a new single where she is ready to come ‘Alive‘.
Singing about love and relationships in her recent singles ‘Chilvary‘ and ‘Excuses‘, this new song transitions to a new theme of finding yourself and appreciating the good in life.
Unlike the past singles released earlier this year, Audrey brings a new music element to ‘Alive‘, where she drifts away from the chilled pop genre and instead including a slow, soft piano musical sound. Written by Audrey, Midi Jones, Andrew Luce, Jesse Saint John and Amisha Sarkar and produced by Midi Jones and Andrew Luce, ‘Alive‘ is a soaring showcase for Audrey’s powerhouse vocals.
“This song is a huge reminder to me to be thankful that I am even here and alive in this world and appreciating the ups and downs of life. It’s a reminder and affirmation that it’s okay to not always be okay and to surround yourself with people that look out for you. I’ve come to realize that I wanted to bring dancing and my music together and go back to this part of me. I think that dancing adds vulnerability and I felt it went hand in hand with this song. The dancing, the singing, and the lyrics show all the different sides of me and who I am. And I hope I can share, and inspire others to do the same and show them that they can trust themselves when things become uncomfortable.”
Audrey Mika
Mika soulfully sings about becoming invincible and pushing herself to become empowered to be alive. It’s like the emotional ballad is Audrey communicating that inside, something is holding her back to be the greatest, and she won’t let this deterring feeling consume her. If she does this, she can be filled with happiness and has the freedom to be the best she can be. No matter how many falls she has, Audrey determines to keep going.
Alongside the single is attached a music video that contains the singer herself dancing an emotive piece. In an Instagram post, the 20-year-old said how she had done dancing for 15 years, but music became her number one passion which took over. So with ‘Alive‘, Audrey wanted to combine the two loves of her life, despite how fearful she was of dancing again and create a beautifully choreographed dance directed by Mara Whitehead.
Why not listen to the single, ‘Alive‘, now?
