What Went On In The ‘Celebrating America’ Concer

Yesterday the Inauguration Day took place in America, officially announcing Joe Biden as President and Kamala Harris as Vice President.

It was a day filled with emotions of happiness of their presidency and some despair due to the 45th President, Donald Trump, leaving the White House too. 

With emotions running free, a concert to celebrate America took place yesterday. Celebrities including Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, John Legend and Demi Lovato performed to entertain America. 

With the concert going ahead on the same day as the inauguration, there were performances during the ceremony in the day, from Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez.

Lady Gaga blew everyone away by powerfully singing the National Anthem of the United States of America; wearing a red ball gown looking graceful as she sang her heart out.

Jennifer Lopez also welcomed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as new President’s by singing songs such as ‘This Land is Your Land and ‘America the Beautiful‘. Furthermore, Jennifer Lopez showcased her music by singing one of her single’s called ‘Let’s Get Loud‘.

While having a grand ceremony, actor Tom Hanks hosted the ‘Celebrating America’ Concert, taking place in the Lincoln Memorial of Washington DC. 

In the beginning, Tom Hanks explained how the concert is to celebrate the new presidency and pay tributes to the frontline care and health workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

The songs that were performed at the concert were ones that were meaningful to the celebration and held positivity. For example, Jon Bon Jovi sang a Beatles cover of ‘Here Comes The Sun‘, Bruce Springsteen sang his 1999 single ‘Land of Hope And Dreams‘. Furthermore, the Foo Fighters brought an excitement of their single called ‘Times Like These‘. 

John Legend and Demi Lovato sang about ‘Feeling Good‘ and having a ‘Lovely Day‘ which conveyed the feelings of hope they felt about the inauguration and feeling positive for the rest of 2021. 

Lastly, Katy Perry ended the show by singing her popular song of ‘Firework‘ which was another extraordinary performance too.
