Since releasing his ‘A’ album featuring Zaytoven, he has been working hard to release his new single which is out now called ‘I Cry’.
A few days ago Usher shared a description about what his new single is about and how it is his personal story about the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. He said that his track ‘is inspired by wanting to teach my sons that it is ok fora man to feel emotions and deeply cry’. During the pandemic Usher said that he felt hopeless after watching the killing of George Floyd, he said how ‘I felt depressed thinking about all sons who have lost their fathers to police brutality, social injustice and violence; the daughters and mothers too. So I returned to this song and realized it was intended for this time’.
The proceeds of Usher’s single ‘I Cry’ will be donated to Local Initiatives Support Cooperation, a US non-profit community which supports community organisations and minority-owned businesses.
