Since her latest single ‘Unnerving’, Emily Cole has now released a new single called ‘Ain’t My Vibe’.
In the upbeat song, Emily tells her future boyfriend that she won’t be taken for granted or be messed around again. Like a typical teenage romance, the 20-year-old singer conveys how she doesn’t want to play games of love, instead, she just wants it to be real and not have a fake kind of love as ‘it ain’t my vibe’.
Along with Emily’s beautiful vocals, ‘Ain’t My Vibe’ is combined with a dreamy pop tune that brings you those positive and party vibes!
We also had the chance to chat with Emily Cole about her new single:
Hi Emily hope you’re doing okay! So how’s lockdown for you anyway?
It’s pretty good! I’ve just been chilling doing music stuff. How about y’all?
It is all good thank you. So could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Yes for sure! So my name is Emily Cole and I am an alternative pop singer-songwriter.
When did you begin singing?
So I have been interested in music and singing since like my whole life, but I have been wanting to make a career out of it since I was 12. So I went to a songwriting camp and ever since then I have been wanting to do this.
Bet that’s amazing. So I’m guessing that singing was something you always wanted to do or was there anything else in mind?
Yes. However, when I was younger all I wanted to do was to play Volleyball, but then I found out that I could be doing gigs and so I was like okay that is what I want to do.
Are there any artists that inspire you as a singer?
Billie Eilish for sure, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter.
Nice! So as we know you’re releasing a new single called ‘Ain’t My Vibe’, could you describe what the single is about?
Yes for sure. So over where I am from men are a different breed basically, so I wrote the song ‘Ain’t My Vibe’ about how I am tired of all of these men that are using girls, as I have seen it through my friends where they have been treated like it. So, I thought I am going to write a song about how I don’t want to waste my time with someone who doesn’t even want to get to know me.
You have also had to cancel your tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, do you know when it will be rescheduled for?
Yes, we were planning on making a mini-tour around some of the states in America, but because of ‘Miss Rona’ coming along, we had to postpone it.
At the minute we are not entirely sure when it will be rescheduled yet, maybe next year, so it will give time for things to calm down.
Finally, what advice would you give to people that inspire to be a singer?
Just try and start writing and search tutorials you can look up to practice singing and songwriting. Just go for it!
