After spending years behind the drums in the British pop music industry, Florrie has stepped into the spotlight as a singer-songwriter, creating powerful tracks that forge personal connections with her audience. The artist has now released her second studio album, Magic For A While.
Ahead of the album’s release, Florrie treated fans to several preview tracks, including the title song Magic For A While and Catch You If You Fall. Through the record, she takes listeners on a journey through life’s highs and lows while maintaining a message of optimism and resilience.
Following her 2024 album The Lost Ones, Florrie continues to draw inspiration from personal experiences. Her songs explore relationships, self-discovery and the beauty of everyday life, combining heartfelt lyrics with uplifting pop-rock melodies that resonate with listeners.
Produced alongside long-time collaborator Brian Higgins, the album began with drums. While living alone in Los Angeles in early 2025, Florrie started recording live drum loops before developing ideas with her touring band during rehearsal sessions in Brighton. Reflecting on the creative process, she said: “I wanted the record to feel live. I wanted energy in it. I wanted things to feel human.”
Across its twelve tracks, energetic percussion and soaring vocals drive the album forward. Through songs such as Catch You If You Fall and Warrior, Florrie embraces honest storytelling, capturing both the challenges and joys of life while encouraging listeners to keep moving forward with confidence and hope.
The album marks the latest chapter in a career that began with Xenomania in the early 2010s, when Florrie’s cult online releases established her as one of pop’s most admired underground artists. As a drummer, she has played on major hits including The Promise, while also collaborating with artists such as Kylie, MNEK, MØ, Tove Lo, The Gossip, Kaiser Chiefs, George Ezra and One Direction.
