Rising star Jamie Fine releases a new catchy single ‘Waking Up Ok‘ teaching everyone that you can discover yourself without being part of a relationship, you can do things independently while you wait for a love which comes at your own time.
Following on from her EP release ‘Everything Led Me To You‘, the rising star continues to deliver heartfelt lyrics which explore the themes of navigating the highs and lows of life, moving on from relationships and trying to discover herself. She brings inspiration and wisdom to her music, creating relatable songs which anyone can connect with personally.
With laid-back acoustics and a vibrant, soaring voice, Jamie sings with passion and confidence about trying to move on after a relationship going wrong in ‘Waking Up Ok‘. While adding a bittersweet story about navigating a breakup and trying to live by yourself in life, Jamie aims to brighten up her track by featuring relaxed acoustics with a catchy pop melody, which brings joy to an experience filled with heartbreak. She teaches everyone in her new single that everything will be okay after a breakup, you don’t need a relationship to define you, and it is a chance to go on a self-discovery journey and find out who your inner self is without any focus on love. “Sunday morning, rain is pouring/I’ll just stay in bed all day/King-size beds don’t feel as lonely/As I thought that they would beAm I dreaming?/Could it be that broken hearts see better days?/Sunday morning, rain is pouring/But I’ve been waking up okay.”
“I wanted waking up OK to be a song that empowers people after their relationship ends. I know that breakups are often associated with a lot of sadness, or anger, resentment, and so many negative emotions; but I wanted to create a song that actually made people feel OK after a breakup. It’s about exploring yourself without another person, whether that’s in an intimate way, waking up at 3 AM to make pancakes because you can and you’re not bugging anybody else, hanging out with people that maybe you got a little distant from. Rediscovering yourself can be really scary, but focusing on things you may have missed or new things that you’re about to discover can be really exciting and that’s ultimately what this song encompasses.”
