Listen to ‘Open Mic’: Sweetbreads’ Story of Connection and Trust

Rising artist Sweetbreads, a.k.a. Melody Stolpp, brings heartfelt stories to life in her new single ‘Open Mic‘.

Following on from her previous single ‘Ben‘, Melody continues to deliver light-hearted, breezy music that feels uplifting yet emotive, driven by creative stories grounded in honest feelings and real experiences of life and the emotions felt during that time.

Like her new single ‘Open Mic‘, Melody uses her creativity and knack for songwriting to provide heartwarming stories which tug at the heartstrings and are powerfully resonant to anyone who listens. With her new single release, Melody explores an inspired experience where she attended an open mic event and watched someone sing about their addiction and struggles through music, which led her to craft moving lyrics about wanting to find connections and intimacy, wanting to feel close to someone you can trust and confide in, whether in relationships or friendships, a relatable desire we all wish for.

With her new single unveiled, it gives listeners another taste of what is to be expected from Sweetbreads upcoming debut album ‘Punisher of Love‘ set to be shared on 25th of September, containing songs on themes of love, experiences in life and troubles we face but are strong enough to overcome.

“I was sitting in this dingy dive bar waiting hours for my turn to play one song amongst a sea of people who were there for the same reason,” Sweetbreads shares. “I felt kind of pathetic and self-involved chasing what seemed like a dying dream. Watching my friend struggle made me think about my own obsessions and addictions, and the things we all cling to in order to escape reality.”
