Pop sensation Carly-Rae Jepson gives us a taste of what is to be expected from her upcoming album with her new single ‘Don’t Leave Me On The Dancefloor‘.
From becoming a viral artist with her breakout single ‘Call Me Maybe‘ in 2011 and being Grammy-nominated for her hit single and Best Pop Solo Performance, Carly has continued to prove she is a success in the music industry, where she delivers music with empowerment, love and passion.
Beginning her career in the catchy genre of bubblegum pop, she is now experimenting with genres of indie pop on her latest tracks ‘After All‘ and ‘Wires’. The lovable artist is becoming more versatile in her music, and now, with the release of her new single, she focuses on the inspired musical influences from ABBA, giving it a 70s funk and disco feel.
Giving us a glimpse of what is to be expected from her upcoming album ‘Day and Night‘, which will consist of 24 tracks, Carly explores themes of love and relationships so far and infuses the track with her signature style of being upbeat, catchy and creating infectious music you cannot help but dance to. Yes, Carly has stuck with her charismatic musical personality, delivering a joyful atmosphere.
With lyrics yearning and hoping to be part of a special romantic memory, Carly sings ‘Don’t Leave Me On The Dancefloor‘ about a bittersweet story of moving past the hurt and arguments and instead wanting to focus on the positive and romantic energy, forgetting about the relationship worries and fights and dancing the night away on the dance floor. She turns a song about hurt and pain into a hopeful, bubbly track.
“I’d just been recording in Sweden and then travelled to London to see ABBA Voyage. I came home with a mission of making my own ABBA-esque pop song – something with a perfect pop melody, but with some updated production. I wanted a hook that made you feel like you had to participate and sing along.”

Alongside her disco- and party-fused song, Carly also unveils a charming music video featuring a first-time appearance from Alden Ehrenreich – who won a Tony for his role in Becky Shaw and has appeared in such films as Solo: A Star Wars Story and Oppenheimer – stars alongside Jepsen in the video. After a gut-wrenching phone call with a lover, played by actress Olivia Washington, we find him in a dance hall where he begins to dance for a sparse audience.
Following the September 18 release of Day and Night via Interscope Records, Jepsen will headline NYC’s All Things Go Festival on Sunday, September 27 – her first live performance of 2026.
