Rising star from London, Matilda Mann, releases an uplifting and joyful single questioning the modern world of relationships and love inside ‘After The Love‘.
Giving us another taste of her upcoming sophomore album ‘Kismet‘ out on the 4th of September, following on from her previous track ‘Make Up‘, Matilda continues to bring funky rhythms to life, giving an electrical buzz to your ears, hypnotising you to bop your head and sway along to her captivating and soulful music.
Like her previous track, Matilda delivers another unique perspective on the theme of relationships and dating, offering insight into why dating in the modern world is so complicated and creating relatable lyrics we all experience. From questioning whether someone is going to stick around to wondering what happens next in the different journeys of love and dating. “After the love (After the love)/What’s left in your heart? (In your heart)/Could you be the man of my dreams/Or a stranger who flees in the dark?“
With angelic vocals and a dreamy style of 70s pop, Matilda creates a catchy song which speaks of honest experiences, wondering where you will end up after the complicated talking stage we all suffer on dating apps.
Speaking about the track, Matilda says: “After the love is a flirty / fun song that actually asks a serious question; was that a one time thing or are you actually going to stick around? It’s definitely not a nonchalant track but at least it’s a light hearted way of asking someone what that first night you spent together means. We had so much fun writing this song and I think it might be my favourite on the album. It’s definitely the one I’m most excited to perform and I can’t wait for you to hear it”
Preparing for her upcoming album release, from the releases so far, the rising singer-songwriter reveals that her new album will be exploring themes of love and dating, giving a joyful and hopeful perspective with the breezy 70s pop to her beautiful vocals soaring throughout her tracks.
