Rising star Sydnie Christmas knows how to create anthems which uplift you even in the darkest times, especially with her new single release, ‘Lean On You’.
Following on from previous single ‘Run‘, Sydnie continues to craft songs which are meaningful, sentimental and empowering, helping to brighten up your day. With the hopeful messages conveyed inside her songs and her soaring and powerful vocals, the powerhouse puts a smile on your face any time you listen to her wonderful music.
Inside her new single ‘Lean On You‘, Sydnie taps into her Olivia Dean music persona, crafting heartfelt lyrics on finding that someone special you can show your true self to, from the imperfections and the flaws, Sydnie can open up to that special someone who she can trust with all her heart, and that is something everyone dreams about, having that someone you can confide in and lay your heart bare, not worrying about judgements or worrying about what they will say to you. It is a feeling which is magical, and Sydnie conveys this beautifully inside her new song.
Along with sentimental lyrics which speak directly from her heart, the midtempo floating beat of the drums and relaxed acoustic guitar add that laidback, chilled atmosphere, where you can kick back and relax while Sydnie sings her heart out, celebrating love, friendship and connections. A positive song we all need in this world. “You hold me in your arms/Letting me show you all my scars/There’s nothing that I’m not afraid to say/The way you’re smiling with your eyes/Making me wonder what it’s like/To always have you look at me that way.”
Talking about writing the song, Sydnie said, “Lean On You is a very personal song to me. I wrote this song when my partner urged me to share the load of my stress. “A problem shared is a problem halved,” he said. I am naturally someone who holds everything in and carries on, as I live such a busy lifestyle. I just deal with it, which I’m okay with… well, I think I’m okay with, until the stress comes out in different ways.
One day, he said, “Babe, I am here to carry your hard times with you – lean on me.” I was so taken aback with relief, as if I couldn’t fall in love with this man any more than I already had. I found myself in a supportive, loving relationship where I felt truly seen – something I had never experienced before.
All of a sudden, all the broken hearts from my past were forgotten. I’d found my home and just had to learn to settle there and lean on him. The next day, Lean On You was written, and from that moment, the rest was history.”
While releasing her optimistic single and sunlit Ibiza music video, enjoying the sunshine, the pop sensation has also made a recent announcement stating that she will be performing three shows this summer in New York and Philadelphia.
Why not listen to the positivity and celebrate your own friendships and relationships by listening to ‘Lean On You‘ now?
