After her first hit, which has reached the top spot on the Official Charts, the pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has now released her second song from her upcoming album, ‘The Cure‘.
Following on from her previous single ‘Drop Dead‘, Olivia’s new single is similar to her earlier era of songs, diving into heartbreak and messy relationships that often end in disaster. While the first song that she released, aligning with her album announcement, ‘Drop Dead‘ was more about falling in love and having that crush you are obsessed with. From these two differences in her recent releases, it reveals her upcoming album ‘You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love’ could be a mixture of themes on falling in love and having that special relationship, to singing about heartbreak and falling out of love – we will see when it arrives on June 12th.
Continuing to make songs that are emotionally and musically-driven, Olivia has a talent for transforming lived experiences about relationships or anxieties about love and turning them into lyrics that are deep and raw, making you feel the emotions that she feels as she sings passionately, filled with frustration about why heartbreaks are so painful to live with.
Trying to find ‘The Cure’ to solve the grief and ache in relationships, the pop sensation makes her new acoustic-driven, sombre song relatable for anyone who is going through a relationship about to break or a situationship, wondering whether it will come to a heartbreaking end.
Alongside her new song release, Olivia has also unveiled the new music video for ‘The Cure‘. Directed by Cat Solen and Jaime Gerin, featuring her as a nurse trying to mend hearts as they get broken repeatedly.
As she promotes her two new singles, Olivia has also recently announced The Unraveled T,our kicking off in September, quickly selling out globally with over 1 million tickets sold, added stops due to demand, and breaking several venue records.
