Rising alternative pop singer-songwriter Ally Salort has a talent for bringing unique perspectives on themes of heartbreak inside her new single ‘Housekeeping‘.
Following on from ‘Finish Line‘, Ally continues to deliver upbeat, emotionally-charged songs around themes of navigating relationships, heartbreaks and growing throughout life; she crafts raw, honest lyrics to drive the emotion inside her songs, making them relatable for anyone to listen to.
With an upbeat soft acoustic intro that quickly transforms into energetic pounding drums, Ally sings with her soft vocals, singing passionately with an emotional side driving out of her voice, describing overcoming the heartache of a breakup that tortured her, and now she is doing some spring cleaning inside her mind and her heart to help her heal and move on. “It’s just a little housekeeping, spring cleaning/If my heart’s a home, I’m clearing the clutter/And you gotta go/It’s just a little housekeeping, spring cleaning/Tossing out your ghost, making room for another/So you gotta go (You gotta go).”
Listening to the song and recognising the creative song title ‘Housekeeping‘, Ally has a talent for writing lyrics and titles which are different to other songs deriving from heartbreak and breakups. She uses a mysterious song title, which could be about anything and transforms it into a track about decluttering your heart out, which has been hurt by a toxic relationship.
“Housekeeping is a fun emotional pop song for moments when you need to metaphorically declutter. For getting that one person out of your system that’s been there way too long. Letting go is so tricky and I just hope the listener feels like I’m right there with them, holding their hand through it.”
