Teasing his new single at Coachella weekend last Saturday, pop sensation Sombr releases his new single ‘Potential‘.
Following on from the previous track, ‘Homewrecker‘, Sombr continues to maintain his unique music style, which features a hazy music production blending genres of pop, rock and dance, making it upbeat to listen to. Inside the new synth-driven song ‘Potential’ describes a relationship lost over time, where the 20-year-old dives into his vulnerabilities, creating moving lyrics, grieving over a breakup which still affects him. Reflecting on where it went wrong and why breakups hit hard. “We had potential, makes me mental not havin’ you, oh/And it drives me crazy that my baby/Thinks we’re through so soon.”
SOMBR has dominated global airwaves and charts since his 2025 breakthrough smash “Back to Friends,” which earned his first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit (charting for 52 weeks), reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Global and U.S. charts, ruled Alternative Radio at No. 1 for five weeks, and reached number 1 on U.S. Pop Radio more than a year after its release.
Earlier this week, SOMBR also announced his fall arena headline YOU ARE THE REASON TOUR for North America. The 39-date run will start in Mexico City, at the Pepsi Center and will see the global phenom perform with his band on legendary stages such as Madison Square Garden in his hometown of New York City on November 23 and 24, with the second date added due to incredible fan demand.
Alongside his incredible, heartwrenching single, the global superstar also unveiled his music video, which seems to be his ‘best one yet’. Starring The Summer I Turned Pretty actor, Gavin Casalegno and Madeline Argy, it sees Sombr and the young pair go on a heist. grabbing money and having the time of their lives, it is like you are watching a Bonnie and Clyde film.
