Recently, the rising star from South London, Skye Newman, has released her EP ‘Woman I Am‘, standing up for all the women around her and filling them with self-love and a sense of greatness.
In the build-up to her EP, the South London star sent fans into a frenzy on social media by recently unveiling her single ‘Walk‘, which appears on her new EP.
In her new EP, Skye uses her personality, showing off her fierce and fearless side, standing up for self-love every woman should have in the world, from knowing their worth to loving themselves for the beautiful and sensational females they are.
‘Woman I Am‘ contains eight empowering tracks exploring themes of identity, roots and knowing your worth and not letting anyone judge or put you down, no matter if you come from an area they don’t agree with or a personality they judge you on, you should always be you and no one else, and this is what the rising star explains successfully throughout her tracks.
With upbeat R&B music that defines the personality of Skye, she also has that unique style coming through her vocals, where she has that strength and power contained inside of her, and it is elevated when she uses her ragged yet soulful vocals, which shine through every single she has ever released.
Especially in songs ‘FU & UF‘ and ‘ the title track ‘Woman I Am‘, while having that confrontational music style as well as the attiude and sass coming through Skye’s sensational voice, she describes how she overthinks in relationships, wondering why she is always saying sorry and why she isn’t feminie enough, but while having these self-doubts, she comes to the relisation that she is perfect and special in her own way and nobody can’t change that incredible way about her. “Think we got addicted to the adrenaline/You wanted a woman but I wasn’t feminine enough/Am I too tough?“
While becoming a rising music star in the industry, from being a Brit-nominated singer, Skye continues to stand in her roots and never letting go of the growth and the past that helped her get to her incredible and successful future, this is what she states in her rhythumric track ‘Family Matters‘, showing how despite coming from South London, Skye has marked her spotlight in the world, paving her own way and making a huge acheivement so far in her music.
