From Rachel Zeglar and Tom Blyth putting on an exceptional performance in the 2023 film, ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes‘. It is now time for new actors Joseph Zada and Whitney Peak to shine in the upcoming movie, ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping‘.
Set to be released on 20 November 2026 by Lionsgate, ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping‘ will explore Panem, where The Hunger Games take place, 24 years before the Katniss saga, which will see young Haymitch Abernathy (played by Joseph Zada) compete in the 50th annual Hunger Games.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, with twice as many Hunger Games contestants in the Second Quarter Quell, it seems the movie will feature a whole lot more bloody scenes, dramatic scenes, and a fight to try and put an end to the iconic games, where characters portrayed in the trailer try to take down President Snow.
The new cast not only features newcomer actor Joseph Zada, but will also star Ralph Fiennes (playing President Snow), McKenna Grace (playing Maysilee Donner), Maya Hawke (playing Wiress), and Elle Fanning (playing Effie Trinket). The upcoming movie seems to have a talented cast ensemble who we cannot wait to see blow us away with their performances.
In the original Hunger Games saga released in 2012, we saw Haymitch (played by Woody Harrelson) being a mentor to contestant Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson), both of whom are expected to return in the prologue of the movie.
The Hunger Games was developed into a film adaptation from the world-awarding book written by author Suzanne Collins. Now there are five franchise films in total, which have gained a lot of popularity.
