On Saturday 28th February more than one million viewers gathered to watch The Brit Awards on their televisions. However, it was time for the 46th music ceremony to be held somewhere different and instead of London, it was held in the North at Manchester Co-Op Live Arena.
Different from London but still bringing the atmosphere filled with joy, happiness and magic as audiences celebrate the pioneers and rising stars of music.
With Jack Whitehall returning as host for The Brit Awards 2026, it was clear it was going to be an evening filled with comedic jokes and laughter. From making jokes about the ceremony held in Manchester, stating how ‘Like what most Brits have done in their 40s – move out of London!’ to commenting on how Harry Styles performance was like experiencing a few minutes on the washing machine!
Jack Whitehall knows how to bring in the laughs at any event and this is why he fits well as a continuing host of The Brits.
A night filled with electricity is how one of the important music nights went down in Manchester. From pop sensation Olivia Dean winning the most awards at the night, including Artist of the Year, Mastercard Album of the Year and winning the award for Pop Act. It is no surprise that she is having a successful career, with her warm presence that she adds to the stage and her poignant vocals that blow us away while she sings about the bright and magical feeling of love and relationships. The 26-year-old is the first female singer to have a debut no.1 single and album in the same week.
While earning the most nominations at The Brits, another incredible musician, Lola Young, was also celebrating her music awards by winning the title for Breakthrough Artist. She has a way of bringing connection and personal experiences that shine throughout her music, which makes it raw and honest, making it easy for listeners to relate to it.
Alternative pop artist Sam Fender joined Olivia Dean, accepting the Brit Award for Best Song of the Year for ‘Rein Me In‘ and bringing the achievement home for Best Alternative/Rock Act.
The ceremony highlighted a range of talented musicians within this music industry, from the nominees to the winners, they bring their heart and souls, providing music that can bring a smile to our faces and making our bodies dance the night away to creating a tear in our eye with their emotive lyrics they bring to their heartfelt songs.
With that being said, it was time for people to remember one of the iconic artists within the music world, Ozzy Osbourne, who sadly passed away on 22 July 2025 at the age of 76.
His wife, Sharon Osbourne, and daughter, Kelly Osbourne, collected his Brits Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising how Ozzy made a true impact on the music world and how his music will last a lifetime, never being forgotten.
Alongside collecting his Lifetime Achievement Award, a beautiful rock tribute to Ozzy Osbourne was presented on stage, where music icon Robbie Williams performed Black Sabbath’s single ‘No More Tears‘ with Ozzy’s band featuring Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos and Zakk Wylde. It was an energetic performance that did everyone proud in the room.
Talking of incredible performances, we cannot forget to mention Harry Styles returning to the Brits stage after three long-awaited years. Introducing the show with his recent single, ‘Aperture‘, which will be featured on his upcoming album this Friday, ‘Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally‘. Harry brought a remarkable dance performance where he brought that Harry ‘magic’ we have all been missing. You could tell the excitement across his performance was rushing wild as audiences heard the enchanting vocals of Harry Styles.
Finally, another electrical performance, which was a treat for viewers, was a tribute to songwriter and music producer Mark Ronson, where he performed a combination of different songs that have had a positive influence on his musical career. Including paying tribute to Amy Winehouse and her songs ‘Back To Black‘ and ‘Valerie‘, it was an emotional yet exhilarating piece.
Inside this tribute, he performed alongside Amy Winehouse’s band and brought out artists including Dua Lipa, with whom he has worked on songs such as ‘Dance The Night’ and ‘Electricity’, and Ghostface Killah joined with his ‘Oh Wee’ rhythmic song. It was a special act where Mark joined various artists on stage with whom he has collaborated to make the most upbeat yet powerful songs.
The music producer knows how to create a sound which is true to the artist’s personality and a sound that is captivating to listeners, so it is no wonder he collected his award for the Outstanding Contribution to Music.
Altogether, The Brit Awards 2026 brought the heat, electricity and talent to a magnificent musical evening.
