Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Ayra Starr team up to celebrate culture and self-love inside new single ‘My Love’

Pop sensation Leigh-Anne Pinnock has already proved she is a pop sensation in the music industry when she grew to fame with the biggest girl group of all time, Little Mix. But now Leigh-Anee embarks on her journey, becoming an even greater soloist with her second release, ‘My Love‘, featuring Nigerian rising star Ayra Starr.

Following on from Leigh-Anne’s debut single ‘Don’t Say Love‘, her new release has continued to bring empowering energy, giving the afrobeat, rhythms and infectious lyrics you cannot seem to get out of your head. So it looks like we are going to be replaying this new captivating single in our brains for another month or two!

Since the devastating breakup of Little Mix in 2022, fans all over the world didn’t know what they had coming next, but seeing how Leigh-Anne Pinnock is already shining as a solo artist, we couldn’t expect anything better, as she is becoming bigger and better than ever.

With her new release of ‘My Love‘, themes of confidence and intimacy move throughout her music. Being a solo artist shows there is more freedom for the pop sensation to express herself in her identity and culture, being able to go on her journey, and showing her brand new self to the world.

Adding her roots to singles ‘My Love‘ and ‘Don’t Say Love‘ is refreshing to see, recognising how this new solo artist can experiment and reveal her self-expression, bringing fans joy to be on this incredible journey with Leigh-Anne.

Produced by Jon Bellion and Pete Nappi, co-written by Aldae, the upbeat, rhythmic new single of ‘My Love’ surrounds itself with displaying self-love and prioritising yourself first when you are deep within relationships and finding love. Along with the energetic music and Leigh-Anne’s and Ayra’s exquisite vocals, they sing beautifully about the power of women and love, creating inspiration for listeners; ‘This woman knows how to make the world go round and just like gravity, we breakin’ ground/I’ll be your home, I can be your kingdom‘.

Leigh’s appreciation for afrobeat/afropop is seen throughout ‘My Love’ as she recruits Magicsticks (Asake) for production and tag-teams with Nigerian artist Ayra Starr. Collaborators on Leigh-Anne’s sophomore single also include PRGSHN, Khris Riddick-Tynes of The Rascals, Alex Goldblatt, Kameron Glasper and DYO.

When we wrote this song, I just knew it was something special, it perfectly captures the essence of who I want to be as a solo artist. That feel-good, powerful, and anthemic song – it’s all about celebrating self-love and embracing its incredible power, and when there was a discussion on a feature I know Ayra was the only one who could embody and amplify this message.”

Along with the sensational collaboration between Leigh-Anne and Ayra, the star also unveiled her new music video, featuring the pair doing a choreographed routine filled with friendship, Nigerian culture and love.
