Following up her recent single ‘Babydoll‘, Ari Abdul is back again in releasing her new song giving mysterious and alternative vibes called ‘Bored‘.
Only 20 years old, the talented artist, Ari Abdul, knows how to bring raw emotion and meaning into her songs, just like her recent single ‘Bored‘, conveying lyrics about the theme of ‘anti-love’, not having the same feelings as someone may have for you.
Containing a musical production of upbeat, alternative pop with Ari’s resonant vocals, she brings a dark and deep atmosphere, expressing her emotions of not being in love with someone, despite them falling for you.
Speaking on the song, Ari says, “Although someone is confessing their feelings, they’re rejected. Roses which symbolize love are dead in the song, which represents the dead love in the situation. Bored is an anti-love song about not reciprocating the same feelings someone has for you.”
Like all of her past songs, Ari brings something new to the table in the music industry, confessing different narratives about love and experiences. Last Autumn, Ari released her debut, EP Fallen Angel. As its title suggests, Fallen Angel is a pop-noir work, levitated by alluring melodies and Abdul’s warm, luminescent vocals. Growing up in Catholic School, she became enamoured with the story of Lucifer and the “fallen angel” narrative. Ari and her best friend/ producer Thomas LaRosa worked to create a world behind the EP inspired by “loss of innocence and connection with oneself into a distorted, wicked version.”
With her own image of alternative, dark pop, Ari had a love for music while growing up in Brooklyn. Her Ecuadorian mom loved Latin music while her Costa Rican/ Palestinian father introduced her to classic rock. Rounding everything out were her brothers who were all about hip-hop and metal. She graduated with electric guitar at 14 and started playing grunge songs inspired by Nirvana. It wasn’t until LaRosa’s mom encouraged Abdul to create her own music in July 2021 that lite the spark to share her voice with the world.
Why not listen to Ari’s new single ‘Bored‘ now?
