With all the love songs of today, we can honestly say we have never had a time where we don’t relate to any of them, because they’re always in some way somewhat relatable, and this is what rising star Ber shows us in her recent single called ‘Superspreader’.
While being honoured with her delightful vocals and beautiful melodies in her early release of ‘Meant To Be’, it is clear that Ber is talented and looking to become the next star on our music list.
From performing with the likes of Holly Humberstone, Maisie Peters, JP Saxe, Dylan Fraser and Flyte’s Will Taylor, Ber continues to shine her music light through the industry of wonderful artists. Now she delivers a new single opening up about the heartbreak of ending relationships called ‘Superspreader’.
Strumming an acoustic guitar in a song about losing a partner is the type of music that fits well with it, combined with the lyrics, the single gives off emotions of pain, loss and heartbreak. While the music sounds soothing and comforting, we can tell Ber is feeling the opposite as she conveys how you can still move forward after a breakup, but you can still see that persons face everywhere you go. ‘And I tried being yours/’Til that didn’t work anymore/ And what was it for?/You still ruin my life even though we don’t talk anymore.’
Of the single and video, Ber recalls, “I’m so excited about the video for Superspreader— This song calls back to the loneliest time of my life, most of which was spent trying to distract myself from heartbreak after moving home to Minnesota. We aimed to capture the level of numbness and isolation I felt at the time of writing it, while also showing off the Minnesotan landscape that kept me company as I was starting over.”
Originally hailing from Bemidji, Minnesota, Ber spent most of her early adult life residing in the U.K. before moving back home in 2021, where she lived in her uncle’s basement. During this unexpected transition, Ber began to create her debut EP, ‘And I’m Still Thinking About That’, remotely while collaborating with the likes of Sfven, Hazel English and Hot Dennis. Its lead single immediately went viral as Ber also hit SXSW, Latitude and Wisconsin’s Summerfest, as well as touring with Tom Odell. She recently played her debut London show at a packed Courtyard Theatre.
This autumn will see Ber embark upon another high-profile North American tour, this time as a special guest to Sigrid.
Why not listen to her new single out now?
