The night of music magic at The Brit Awards 2022

It was a night of music magic, where celebrities joined together to honour the achievements of their talented sound, finding out who the winners and nominees were in the Brit Awards 2022.

Taking place on Tuesday 8th of February at the O2 arena in London, hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan, for the first time, alongside backstage hosts Maya Jama and Clara Amfo, was the 42nd ceremony of the Brit Awards. Celebrities anticipated and reflected on their career moments, enjoying an event filled with laughter, happiness and achievements.

Kicking off the show was pop sensation Ed Sheeran performing his song ‘Bad Habits‘ with a rock N roll twist with the band Bring Me The Horizon, bringing a wild atmosphere, building up the upbeat energy around the room, it was a brilliant way to start. 

Many performances brought the spark to the stage, such as Anne Marie, KSI and Digital Farm Animals, singing their favourite singles like ‘Don’t Play‘, ‘Holiday‘, ‘Kiss My (Oh-Oh)‘ and many more. They all were iconic, especially Anne Maire’s moment of strength and embarrassment, where she accidentally tripped down the stage stairs. 

There were other empowering performances at the Brits, like Adele with her high-ranged vocals singing ‘I Drink Wine‘, rising stars Holly Humberstone and Little Simz also had their first Brits debut act where they took charge of the stage. 

While seeing moving performances by singers such as Ed Sheeran, Adele, Dave, Little Simz and many more, what made it more diverse and unique was the new genderless categories for Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year. Furthermore, the event let fans on Tik Tok vote for their favourite artists for the Best Pop/R&B Act, Best Dance Act, Best Grime/Rap/Hip Hop Act and Best Rock/Alt Act.

Ending the sensational night of success and reflection was rapper Dave, bringing the heat onto the stage with the performing of his recent single, ‘In The Fire’, from nominated Album of the Year ‘We’re Not All Alone Together’. It was an energising piece as rapping legends Ghetts, Giggs, Freddo, and Meekz, along with a gospel choir, joined the star on stage, giving love and influence to people out there to follow their journey and never give up.
