Singer-songwriter Eleni C has released her enchanting single, ‘Queen‘, which contains a message filled with love, grooves and upliftment. At InCeleb, we have recently talked to Eleni C about her career as an artist and her new single release.

At a young age, Eleni dreamed of being a singer, whether it was giving shows to her family, singing to her cats and dogs, or singing and dancing with her hairbrush listening to her favourite music, Eleni desired to be a pop star.

As a person filled with positive and hardworking energy, Eleni began her career through her first musical. Opening up, Eleni said, she was “selected to be a member of a children’s choir, and after we had our first show singing Christmas carols I knew that I found the love of my life. After that experience I was all about music, singing lessons, songwriting and the rest as we say is history. When I became a teenager I actively used to chase every open mic opportunity where I could practice and enhance my performing and singing skills.”

Eleni C talks about her career as an artist

Inspired by her favourite artists like Jennifer Lopez, the talented singer kept growing and took every experience she could get out of her career. Naming some of her highlights, she said, “At the start of my career I was chosen to represent the UK in the International Music Festival where I took first prize in the Best Original Song and Best Female Singer categories.” As well as this, Eleni C even had the chance to perform her music live to audiences because she was the open act for artists such as Little Mix, Tulisa, Fleur East, Alesha Dixon, Foxes, Little Boots Stooshe, Becky Hill. Her fame didn’t stop there as she took the chance to perform at the Free Radio Live Concert in the Birmingham NEC Arena, Pride in London and the Westfield Music Cube.

While rising to fame with her enthusiasm and motivation, Eleni also became a mental health advocate, where she became more of an inspiration to young people. Speaking on this, Eleni said, “Mental health is very close to my heart as I grew up witnessing members of my family and close friends struggling with mental health issues. I witnessed how it consumed the lives of the individual as well as the people that cared and loved them. Also, a lot of my friends in the music industry have faced mental health issues that in many cases forced them to walk away from the music industry.” So not only that Eleni has a music talent, but she also wants to share her platform for important subjects like mental health, and with this, she has joined charities such as ‘Young Minds’ and ‘The Mix’ charities, as well as giving talks to pupils in her school tours.

With mental health and her music, Eleni finds a way to combine these two to create meaningful messages in her songs, inside her music she provides lessons to tell people that “as individuals, we have the power to be in control of our life, and live it the way we want to. Take the risks or be safe the choice is ours.” Songs like ‘Silent Voices’ and ‘I Don’t Give A Damn’ focus on the mental health experiences where Eleni tries to provide hope for her listeners.

This year the 28-year-old singer has released many songs such as ‘Tug Of War‘ and ‘Black and White‘, now she has unveiled her new single ‘Queen‘. Talking about her new single, Eleni says,

It is an up-tempo, fearless and feel-good track. It’s anthemic and empowering, and an unapologetic call-to-arms for personal autonomy. I wrote this as an anthem of personal empowerment, to remind my fans to stand up for what they want and to have the courage to live the life that they want to live.”

Asking to describe her music, Eleni says it is “sassy pop with a touch of a reggaeton flavour and a few RNB elements.” While finishing our interview with the pop sensation, Eleni gives her advice on what it takes to enter the music industry, “Go after your dreams; try to learn from others that have been successful in the industry and practice, practice, practice. Learn to take criticism and praise how to evaluate the positive and negative comments and decide to either adopt them or discard them. This will not only help you to grow as an artist but will also safeguard your mental health as you will be able not to take negativity to heart and allow it to affect you emotionally.”
