The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have delightfully announced that they have given birth to their baby girl, named Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Harry and Meghan chose their daughter’s name by naming her after Harry’s mother and grandmother. Lilibet is a nickname associated with The Queen, and also choosing Diana in Lili’s middle name, making their daughter; Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
A statement from the couple’s press secretary said “Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.”
Furthermore, the Buckingham Palace Spokesperson also created a statement wishing the couple well on their exciting news; “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana! The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news.” Lilibet will now be The Queen’s eleventh great-grandchild.
Lilibet is now the Duke and Duchess’s second child, as they have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. In the press statement from the Archwell website, the couple gives their thanks to the public.
