This week JC Stewart released his debut EP called ‘When The Light Hits The Room‘.
After helping and performing with big artists such as Anne-Marie, Lewis Capaldi, Lauv, and Maisie peters, it was now time for JC Stewart to ignite his career by producing his debut EP.
Since releasing his single ‘I Need You To Hate Me‘ in May 2020, JC Stewart embarks on the sadness in a relationship of love and how heartbreaking break-ups can be.
In his debut EP, JC takes us on a journey to do with aspirations of love, finding someone to ease the pain, and trying to connect with someone again. While doing this, he conveys powerful emotions which you can feel in every song he sings.
The beginning track, Rest of My Life, has an upbeat rhythm combining with piano chords that make the song’s he plays very emotive. In the starting track of the EP, JC looks towards the future and organises goals on finding someone that he can share his life with, and establish that true love which anyone needs in their life to be happy.
Continuing in the EP, you can still hear the blissful sound of the piano chords in the music, but this time the next track adds a touch of a guitar melody which brightens up the second track. In ‘Valium‘ the sweet-sounding singer describes a relationship that has crumbled, which has affected him, in the song he sings ‘Oh I gotta stop my hands from shaking, Oh I gotta stop my mind from making, making me think of you. But I keep imagining you’re beside me, and if I shut my eyes real tightly, Maybe it might come true’.
Repeating the same musical style of the piano, in ‘Friday Night‘ JC tells us what he experiences during the week on a day-day basis, including what his thinking and feeling, and how he overcomes the heartbreaking thoughts he has.
I wanna go out and cut loose
I wanna find somebody, somebody I don’t care who
Gonna hold them in my arms
Oh come on baby, come on baby
I wish it was a Friday night
I wish it was a Friday night
Friday Night By JC Stewart
The final track is again an exquisite melody, and although the sound of the song sounds despairing, instead JC sings about hope on love and explains how he has found a girl but overwhelms on the thought on how he shouldn’t be loved.
Overall, this EP is beautiful and moving, and it will capture every emotion you feel, which portrays in the song.
