Pop-singers Bryce Vine and Cheat Codes, this week, release their new single called Stay. Together, the multi-platinum Los Angeles artists are a powerful pop force as they produce a splendid single.
Stay is what we need to consume to our ears, after being in an unprecedented time of lockdown, it is a single that it is an incredible anthem about living life to the fullest and being carefree. An optimistic single which is what we need to live for.
“Me and my friends wrote ‘Stay’ almost a year ago when the world was still normal. It’s about all those good times you don’t want to say goodbye to, but you appreciate them when they’re gone. It’s about the hopefulness that those times will come back, which I think we can all relate to right now. I’ve known Cheat Codes since before they were even Cheat Codes, and they just have such great energy that I really wanted to bring them a song that matched that energy, so we could feel like we were all back in those good times. I think it turned into the perfect collaboration.”
Bryce Vine
The track is a fitting follow-up to Bryce Vine’s more low-key Problems EP, a 5-song set released in August that he laid down in his bedroom with little more than a guitar in hand. His goal was to catalogue the shock of being stuck in quarantine. With “Stay,” he’s bringing back the party—just with the caveat that it, too, will become a memory. This run continues a productive couple of years for the songwriter and producer. In 2019, he released his debut full-length, Carnival, which included the platinum YG-featuring hit “La La Land” and his double-platinum breakout “Drew Barrymore.” And over the course of 2020, he’s released a handful of exciting singles, including February’s “Baby Girl” with Jeremih.

“It’s crazy because we’ve known Bryce for almost 10 years and we always wanted to find the perfect song to collaborate on. We finally got there with ‘Stay.’ Bryce and JP Clark wrote this idea in Miami, sent it to us and fast forward to today, we have an amazing record together. ‘Stay’ represents a feeling that we’ve all been in and reminds us it’s important to hold on to the memories and good times. Especially during a time like this, we want to encourage positivity and good energy.”
Cheat Codes
Meanwhile, Cheat Codes have already scored massive hits with Demi Lovato, Fetty Wap, Kaskade, and more, garnering over 4 billion streams to date, and are gearing up for their three-part debut album that Since emerging in 2013, the Los Angeles-based multi-platinum singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist has quietly built a devoted audience with EPs such as Lazy Fair (2014) and Night Circus (2016). However, he popped off on an international scale with the double-platinum smash “Drew Barrymore.” It paved the way for the platinum “La La Land” [feat. YG] and his first full-length in 2019, Carnival. Along the way, Bryce attracted widespread acclaim from Bustle, Billboard, Teen Vogue, VIBE, and more, with TIME declaring “Bryce Vine is the epitome of low-key cool.”
Simultaneously trafficking in electronic, pop, hip-hop, and alternative at the same high speed, the Los Angeles trio Cheat Codes remains an inescapable force throughout popular culture. Their total stream tally eclipses a staggering 6 billion plays. Maintaining a prolific pace, they’ve steadily amassed a diverse discography, including the platinum Pop Radio Top 5 smash “No Promises” [feat. Demi Lovato], the gold-certified “Feels Great” [feat. Fetty Wap & CVBZ], and gold-selling breakout “SEX” with Kriss Kross Amsterdam. Speaking to their international impact, “Only You” [feat. Little Mix] soared to #1 on Pop Radio in the UK, while they received dozens of platinum certifications in 20 countries. Not to mention, Liam Payne, Kim Petras, Wiz Khalifa, and Sofía Reyes all jumped at the chance to collaborate, and they did remixes for Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. Igniting clubs worldwide, their 2019 level 2 EP yielded the #1 Dance Radio hit “Who’s Got Your Love” [feat. Daniel Blume] in addition to “Ferrari” [feat. Afrojack] and “Be The One” [feat. Kaskade].
