Throughout Wide Eyed Blind, Saint Raymond sings whole-heartedly about a relationship that is now lost and broken, he tries to grasp his emotions and perseveres to move on, slowly making his way throughout the dark tunnel. It is A reflective, laid back, guitar-driven track highlighting his unique vocals that brim with soul and passion.

‘This song is about relationship breakdown. When you are trying to be aware of absolutely everything and you kind of miss what is happening right in front of you, hence the title Wide Eyed Blind’.

Although this single describes an emotional breakdown on a relationship, the music presents a lively atmosphere, as the music contains an uptempo, frenetic rhythm and melody, which is upbeat and cheery. The music could resemble the optimistic side of moving on and the lyrics, and the vocals could symbolise the heartbreak which the individual feels about the relationship demolishing.

Wide-eyed, blind to the fact

You were one thing to my face

And another behind my back

And whilst you were kissing my cheek

You were kicking me in the teeth

And I gotta live with that

In my head every word you’ve said

Is playing on my mind, I was

Wide-eyed blind, wide-eyed blind
